Silvija Kicivoj / Raindrop I

Silvija Kicivoj (b. 1989, Zagreb) is a Düsseldorf-based textile artist.

Her artistic practice developed from an early need to express thoughts and feelings in images – initially through drawing, painting, and photography, but now primarily in the form of textiles and embroidery. What began as a quiet retreat has become a central part of her identity over the years.

Silvija's works emerge from the tension between the inner and outer worlds. She explores interpersonal relationships, emotional reactions, and the impact of her surroundings. Her works revolve around themes such as self-perception, change, balance, and the need to give everyday experiences a deeper meaning.

Through precise forms, finely rendered lines, and a deliberate selection of materials, Silvija gives shape to intangible states of mind. Structure, surface, and atmosphere hold equal weight to subject matter. Quiet and restrained at first encounter, her works reveal their depth gradually, inviting sustained dialogue with the viewer.
